Working in partnership with specialist vehicle manufacturers Severn Lamb, TDI has just completed development of its first standard gauge light railcar for a private operator in Turkey. This is a bi-directional, 18m long, diesel-electric railcar capable of carrying up to 120 passengers and operating at speeds up to 65kph. The bodywork comprises a composite aluminium and FRP structure with electrically operated sliding plug doors. Following track testing at Long Marston, the vehicle is expected to enter service in autumn 2015.
