Now that testing is complete, Rail Alliance kindly hosted a launch at Long Marston today where invited guests were treated to the first public showcasing of the new 'ABH railcar' in action (before it is delivered to the customer in Konya, Turkey next month).
Working in partnership with specialist vehicle manufacturers Severn Lamb, TDI has just completed development of its first standard gauge light railcar for a private operator in Turkey. This is a bi-directional, 18m long, diesel-electric railcar capable of carrying up to 120 passengers and operating at speeds up to 65kph.
TDI is proud to be involved with the upgrade of Cornish Riviera sleeper trains for Great Western Railway operating between Penzance and London Paddington. Mock-ups of the new designs were unveiled today at the Cornwall Expo in Newquay by the Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin from the Department of Transport.
